Following his inappropriate antics after the Bucks’ Game 6 and series loss to the Indiana Pacers last week, the NBA has punished Patrick Beverley.
The former Bulls’ guard has been suspended for four games by the league for throwing a basketball at fans multiple times following the elimination loss. The NBA also noted his “inappropriate interaction” with ESPN producer Malinda Adams during his postgame media availability.
Patrick Beverley Punished
Beverley is actually under investigation by the Indianapolis police after the altercation with the fan. The incident was caught entirely on camera, which sparked the investigation by Indianapolis PD. The case will be presented by the detectives in charge to the Marion County Prosecutors’ office once the investigation is complete.
On Beverley’s podcast, The Pat Bev Podcast, he apologized for his behavior and said it can’t happen, though he did infer that he was pushed by fans.
“I will be better,” he said. “I have to be better, and I will be better. That should have never happened. Regardless of what was said, that should have never happened. Simple as that.”

Beverley also apologized to Adams for his behavior in his postgame press availability.
I always liked Pat Bev during his time with the Bulls. After watching him significantly more as a player last year, I found myself rooting for him this season. However, the actions in Indiana just can’t happen. You simply can’t put fans at risk or treat the media like dirt for just doing their job. Even if you don’t want to answer a question, you can do it in a more respectful manner!
The 36-year-old guard is a free agent this summer and would serve his suspension in the first four games of the 2024-25 regular season.
