The prospect classification season is winding down as the regular season is ramping up, but Baseball America has just released its Top 100 list, with a few names to note.
As expected, top positional prospect Brett Jackson and top pitching prospect Trey McNutt made the list at 38 and 48, respectively. BA likes Jackson’s polish, and all-around skill set, although they don’t see him as great at any particular tool. As for McNutt, BA says he’s got a great fastball, which ranks 70 on the 20-80 scouting scale (70 is very good).
Chris Archer, dealt earlier this winter to the Rays in the Matt Garza deal came in at 27, and Hak-Ju Lee, moved in the same deal, came in at 92.
