Stop. Losing. Frustratingly.
Once again, Scott Feldman flashed tantalizing stuff – he had great movement on all of his pitches, and he was really using a comeback two-seamer very effectively – but once again he was all over the place. It wasn’t an easy day to pitch, and his defense didn’t help him much, but he’s going to have to figure out how to better harness his quality stuff. And, once again, he didn’t even make it five innings.
The Cubs went out to an early lead, only to blow it immediately thanks to bad defense, mental mistakes, and pitching gaffes. They did make sure to tease us late, though, as they are wont to do.
