I am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 36 hours straight, until slightly past MLB’s July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, Series Preview, Pre-Gamin’, EBS), as well as an uptick in rumor/trade posts.
Hey, we’re into the 30s, and I’m trying to choke down a friend-delivered lunch while writing/monitoring/etc.

News and Rumors Since the Last Recap:
Sounds like the Cubs will deal one of Nate Schierholtz or David DeJesus, there was a fresh Lukewarm Stove, and the very basic “non-waiver” question is answered.
Most Interesting Tidbit Since the Last Recap:
It’s the sudden uptick in reports from around baseball. It’s starting to fly a bit.
Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:
Without knowing what kind of offers are available, it’s hard to say whether I like the either/or approach to Schierholtz and DeJesus, and whether I prefer one being dealt or the other. Generally-speaking, you prefer not to have two assets competing with each other at the deadline, but the Cubs’ hand was forced by injuries.
Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:
Big ‘ole Coke/Coke Zero mix from Chipotle.
Strangest Thought Passing Through My Mind:
‘Party in the USA,’ endless loop in my head. No, I will not put my hands up. Stop asking me.
