I’m hoping video of this one will surface, but, with the game on the road and not televised, it could be dicey.
Kris Bryant, yes, hit another homer today. That’s his 9th Cactus League bomb, and 10th overall in the Spring if you count his “B” game blast last week.
Nothing changes in the calculus about his future, of course, but it sure is head-shakingly fun to watch this unfold. Also fun:
Spring stats sketchy before '06, but esteemed Paul Hoynes of Cleveland PD reports Albert Belle hit 11 HRs spring 1990 and did not make club.

Say what you will about Belle, but the guy could hit. It took him a little while to get going, though – despite that huge 1990 Spring Training (age 23, same as Bryant), Belle played just 9 games at the big league level (and 33 in the minors). The next year, though, he spent almost the full season in the big leagues and posted a 134 wRC+.
So, the lesson here is clearly that the Cubs are entirely justified in sending Bryant to AAA Iowa to start the year, and he probably won’t be any good until 2016.
I kid, I kid.
