DraftKings is holding a one-day “All-Star Fantasy Camp” contest on tomorrow night, and I would like to win the grand prize: a VIP trip – including hotel, airfare, meals, transport, and swag – to this year’s All-Star Game in Cincinnati (worth $10,000) plus $1,000 cash.

I just drafted my lineup (picking a team of players using a $50,000 salary cap), which is heavy on Dodgers (at Coors), Cubs (because I’m a homer), and Cardinals (because voodoo):

dk lineup may 9

Obviously I’m going to have to make sure Guerrero actually gets the start, and I’m not 100% married to the three-players-from-three-teams strategy. I’ve heard mixed opinions on whether that’s a good idea or not. I’m not being a total homer with the Cubs picks, though, as I like the match-up with a struggling Kyle Lohse, and I think each of Soler and Russell have looked really good at the plate the last few days (and Rizzo is Rizzo).

I actually don’t love Molina and Jay all that much in this, but I needed some cost-effective options. I’ll probably check back in tomorrow when lineups come out to see if I can get some cheap platoon guys who happen to be starting that day. Seems like a good strategy.

If you want to join me in trying to win that big prize – or the other cash prizes for folks who finish high, but not quite first – you can sign up for the contest here. It’s $3 to play or it’s FREE if you make your first deposit (and they’ll match that deposit with bonus money).

Official rules and description here (note that this one is open to folks 21 and older, only).
