Enhanced Box Score: Cubs 4, Nationals 2 – June 6, 2015
Jason Hammel was fantastic once again today, pitching into the 9th and only then surrendering his second run of the day (a solo homer by Bryce Harper). Joe Maddon quickly pulled Hammel in favor if Hector Rondon, and then pulled Rondon after he walked the first batter he faced. Pedro Strop cleaned things up to preserve the win.
Offensively, the Cubs finally got some timely hits with runners in scoring position, which has really been killing them for going on a month.
But the story is definitely going to be the end of the bullpen …
