The Cubs can sweep the Brewers today, and head into this weekend’s big series against the Pirates on a streak.
For the first time in a while, Joe Maddon goes with the pitcher batting 9th in a game not started by Jon Lester or Jake Arrieta. Is this a shift in philosophy? Given how much substituting the Cubs do these days with their huge bench, it matters a whole lot less who bats where. Still. It’s interesting.
I’ll be back out in the bleachers this evening – grey Miami t-shirt and/or black sweatshirt, blue shorts, blue/yellow shoes. Likely in right field, so I hope to see some of you out there.
