More or less, that’s become the standard group of guys against a righty starter with Jon Lester on the mound.
As we discussed earlier, John Lackey is much tougher on righties than lefties, though, so it’s unfortunate that Miguel Montero isn’t in there. You could also have made an argument to give the second base start to Tommy La Stella over Starlin Castro, but I can understand not wanting to remove a guy who’s been one of the best hitters in baseball going on a month or two now.
And, as always, the Cubs’ quality bench depth will allow for plenty of changes before it’s all said and done in the 9th.
UPDATE: Coghlan and Schwarber have swapped spots in the outfield. Interesting.
