Right about the time Jason Hammel gave up a home run to opposing starter Anthony Ranaudo last night, I decided tonight was going to be the night I went to bed early to bank some sleep for the upcoming Blogathon. I’m running a deficit as it is, and since I’m going to tonight’s game, my opportunities to have a full night’s sleep before Sunday are limited.
How much could I miss, right? Once again, the Cubs were struggling to take advantage of a pitcher’s unimpressive offerings, and although Hammel was pitching adequately, the other pitcher socking a dinger was surely a signal that things were about to go downhill.[adinserter block=”1″]
The good news is that I just got 8 wonderful hours of sleep.
The less good news? Well, I guess it’s still good news for everyone else, but not me: I missed a game-tying Kris Bryant homer, a lead-giving Javy Baez homer, an Addison Russell grand slam, and Aroldis Chapman making his Cubs debut.
Oopsie doodle. At least the Cubs won.
