The Cubs batted around in the first inning, scoring five runs in the process (three of which came on a monstrous, 450-foot Jorge Soler blast), and coasted against the Brewers from there. David Ross later added a solo homer for good measure.
For his part, Jon Lester was not as efficient as he probably could have been, but it’s not like the Brewers could do much of anything against him for his 6.2 innings of work. The Cubs got a nice, clean, bounce-back effort from Carl Edwards Jr. thereafter, and Travis Wood finished things out in the 9th.[adinserter block=”1″][adinserter block=”10″]
That gives the Cubs the series win against the Brewers in this four-game set already, so now they get to try for the sweep tomorrow.
