As much as the Brewers have been a pesky rebuilding thorn for the Cubs lately, the Reds have been a welcomed rebuilding oasis.
Jon Lester was excellent once again with seven strong innings, pitching to contact in the early going, and then getting whiffs when he needed them with men on base. He also drove in the Cubs’ first run – a very winded David Ross – with an RBI double.[adinserter block=”1″]
The Cubs got plenty of offense in this one, including nice games from Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo, who haven’t had as many lately.
Somehow the Cubs hit no homers in this one, but they still won going away …
