Here are the reports, and then we can all just digest. This is so sad. Jose Fernandez undoubtedly affected so many people – his family, his teammates, Marlins fans, baseball fans, the South Florida community – that it’s overwhelming me with terrible feelings.
Horrific news to report this morning, multiple people inform me that Marlins' pitcher Jose Fernandez was killed in a boating accident.

Numbness sets in. Fernandez was 24. All we can do is hope that his family, his friends, and his teammates are able to get through this somehow. I couldn’t begin to understand how.
The Marlins have now confirmed the news, and today’s game against the Braves is cancelled.
UPDATE: Maybe I did it mostly to help myself process this news, but I wrote more on Fernandez here.
