Going into the at bat, which came after the Cubs loaded the bases and bounced Indians starter Josh Tomlin from the game in the process, you were just hoping for solid contact. Maybe a single. You’d even take a sac fly.

According to tweets I saw but that have since been lost in a very crowded, excited timeline, that is the Cubs’ first World Series Grand Slam, and also gave Russell a record six RBI in the game.
