You go, we go.
Those were the words Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon would say to his leadoff man in 2016, as Dexter Fowler looked to not only set the table for the mashers behind him in the lineup, but set the tone for the game. It became a pretty fun thing for fans to note after Fowler reached base.
This year’s Cubs leadoff hitter is Kyle Schwarber, atypical as that may be. We knew that Maddon wouldn’t be saying “you go, we go” to Schwarber, but will he be saying something to open the games?

Yup. He will.
But he can’t tell us:
Joe Maddon's leadoff slogan for Kyle Schwarber is racier than his “you go, we go” for Dexter Fowler https://t.co/qR7Wyy3rDt via @MDGonzales pic.twitter.com/VdPeuFgZ4b

Well, that’s sure to lead to a nice guessing game as the season opens up. Any expert lip-readers out there?
Actually, that might not be necessary. I think I can guess the completely sexy, borderline pornographic line that Maddon will use with Schwarber this year:
“Chicago Cubs offense.”
Ooh, baby. You know just what I want to hear.
