The Cubs have a bad taste in their mouth from a series sweep at the hands of the Pirates over the weekend, but they’re hoping a healthy dose of a struggling Milwaukee Brewers’ club can flush that taste right out.
… Oh, what’s that? The Brewers have won five out of their last six games and are a half-game up on the Cubs?
Here’s your Cubs lineup for this evening.
- Kyle Schwarber, LF
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Ben Zobrist, 2B
- Addison Russell, SS
- Jason Heyward, RF
- Miguel Montero, C
- John Lackey, P
- Albert Almora Jr., CF

Back by popular demand … it’s Albeeeeeeert Almora!
Indeed, Almora gets just his fourth start of the season tonight (seems light doesn’t it?) at Wrigley Field, as Jason Heyward sticks in right, Ben Zobrist stays home at second base, and Javy Baez gets a breather on the bench.
Given that he makes a highlight reel play (or two) every time he’s in the outfield – and the fact that he’s been hitting quite well in limited exposure – I’m excited to see him grab another start. An added bonus: the Brewers’ starter tonight, Chase Anderson, struggles with righties (we’ll get into this in the Pre-Gamin’) more so than lefties, so the matchup should work out in his favor.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time.
