The #CardiacCubs are back!
According to Elias, #Cubs have won 3 straight Gs after trailing by 3 or more runs in each for 1st time since July 24-26, 1929

After going down by a lot in their past three games, the Chicago Cubs have called upon the 2015 versions of themselves and come back to win late.
And with the four straight losses preceding these wins, I have to say … I think I’ve missed these emotional swings. Today’s a new day, though, and the Cubs have another game to play.
Jake Arrieta is on the mound for the Cubs precisely one year and one day removed from his last no-hitter (vs. the Reds at Great American Ballpark). Although it’s been fun to watch the Cubs come back lately, I wouldn’t mind a repeat of that game from 366 days ago.
Arrieta’s last start this season (against the Pirates) was actually his worst of the year, though he still only allowed three earned runs (two homers) and walked just one batter. So long as that K/BB ratio stays where it’s been through his first three starts, I think we’re going to be happy with his numbers by the end of the year (regardless of velocity).
Opposing Arrieta and the Cubs is Reds’ lefty Cody Reed. As I mentioned in the lineup post, Reed does technically have a traditional split, wherein righties have hit him much better, but there’s just not much of a sample on which to rely. This is also just his first start of the season, so it’s not easy to know what to expect.
The 24-year-old southpaw struggled mightily in his 10-start debut last season (7.36 ERA, 6.06 FIP). Let’s hope that trend continues today.
