The Chicago Cubs go for the sweep over the Cincinnati Reds at home this afternoon, and what a sweet sweep it would be after a couple weeks of legitimate struggles.
Here’s tonight’s Cubs lineup:
- Ben Zobrist, RF
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Ian Happ, LF
- Willson Contreras, C
- Addison Russell, SS
- Javy Baez, 2B
- Jon Lester, P
- Albert Almora Jr., CF
The Cubs are facing lefty Amir Garrett, and they’ve opted to load the lineup with righties. Only Anthony Rizzo and Jon Lester will bat from the left side against Garrett, who shows a bit of a split in favor of righties (though his big league sample is limited to his time in MLB this season).
Kyle Schwarber gets a day off, which will allow Ian Happ to play yet another position with the big league team, and he’ll also be batting from the right-handed side today.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time (1:20 CT). In the meantime, read about the controversial replay overturn that ended last night’s game.
