Eloy Jimenez missed a little over a month of action at the start of the minor league season, so he’s got some catching up to do if he wants to treat us to eye-popping numbers by the end of the year.
He added a nice number last night, lifting his second homer of the year out to left:
That wasn’t a bad pitch, and looked to be exactly what the catcher wanted. But it was apparently what Eloy wanted, too. Through seven High-A games so far this year, Jimenez is hitting .320/.433/.560 with more walks (5) than strikeouts (3).
After the blast, the Pelicans debuted a hypnotic graphic that I’m hoping they use for all Jimenez homers, too:
BOOM! @Lamantha21 CRUSHES a solo HOME RUN to left and the Pelicans take a 2-1 lead in the 6th! pic.twitter.com/swZykns4NX

I could watch that for a while. Perhaps I will. While chanting “Eloy, EEEloy, EEEELLOYYYYY.”
