Jason Heyward has had his ups and downs at the plate with the Cubs, but that glove in the outfield? It has never slumped.
Heyward showed off his Gold Glove chops again tonight, robbing the heck out of a would-be Ryan Braun homer. The thing was a shot off of Ryan Braun’s bat, and pretty clearly headed over the wall. Miller Park is a great one to try for robberies, but the ball was so low and hard that it didn’t look like anyone could get back fast enough to set up for a robbery … except Heyward isn’t just anyone (via @Cubs):

Not only did Heyward catch that low-liner, 100 mph rocket, but he got himself set up from there quickly enough to throw to second base and prevent a tag up, and he may well have saved another run in the process.
