Well, they won’t all look like last night’s game.
Or, um, anything close to it.
Look, tonight’s game wasn’t a total disaster, but it certainly looked extremely ugly by contrast to last night’s blowout win by the Cubs. The defense made some mistakes that directly impacted the score, and the Cubs’ bats did absolutely nothing all night.
Justin Wilson made his Cubs debut, and although he showed off the fantastic stuff, he also was a little shaky. That seems to be pretty common at this point with guys making their debut (Jose Quintana was the exception, I guess), and since the Cubs didn’t come back to make a difference, I guess I’m glad things went they way they did for him in this particular game. Now he can just be lights out from here, right?
Really, it was a bad game. It happens. I’m not too chapped about it. But maybe that’s mostly because I really did like one thing …
