Well that was a thud.
A day after losing a late lead against an always beatable Reds team, the Cubs went down big against an equally beatable Phillies team and never recovered.
Jose Quintana got hit hard in the first two innings, as he has so often already with the Cubs. The Wife and I actually went out for dinner tonight after the kids went to bed, so I missed most of the Quintana fireworks. It looks to me like he was simply getting hit.
Which was the thing the Cubs weren’t doing all night when they got anything brewing. A total thud of a game, unless you want to be excited about Kyle Schwarber’s good night or another scoreless inning from Justin Wilson.
The Cubs were not saved by their light and playful uniforms.
