If you’ll indulge me a moment for our sister site, The Ten-Yard Line, here up front on a Monday morning: the Bears won! And it was a thrilling win over a good team on a walk-off 19-yard touchdown run in overtime!
I might not be the Bears fan that I am a Cubs fan (with all due love to the Bears, that’s never going to happen), but I was pretty into yesterday’s game. And I can’t help but worry that the team is squandering what could be a modestly competitive season by delaying the emergence of Mitch Trubisky. Mike Glennon has looked so very bad, particularly without an ability to create for himself, given the lack of wide receiver talent. Sure, it’s possible that starting Trubisky would be throwing him to the wolves, but it’s also possible that he would flourish behind a very good line, a good running game, and a solid defense that might not routinely put him in a hole.
Back to your regularly scheduled baseball …
