Where are all the transactions!?!?!? INACTIVITY AND SITE PROBLEMS ARE PUSHING ME TO CONSIDER SOMETHING CRAZY LIKE WATCHING SOCCER.
OK. I’m being a little melodramatic, but only a little. I certainly don’t mean to suggest that the Cubs should DO something just to DO something. And the Cubs are not alone on this front, so I’m not singling them out for inactivity, mind you. In fact, the Cubs have had a more active winter so far than most teams.
It’s just that, to put some context on how painful the offseason has become for fans like us who have a ravenous appetite for transactions throughout November, December, and January, this is what I’m looking at:
The Cubs' last transaction was on December 16, which was nearly four weeks ago. This offseason will end me. pic.twitter.com/T0vEv2nTe9

I wrote a deep dive on Cishek’s 2017 season here. That was December 19. It feels like a very distant memory, and yet it was an analysis tied to literally the Cubs’ most recent transaction. Across baseball, it’s been utterly dead since then – with only a smattering of minor league deals, forgettable trades, and a couple reliever signings.
I’m about to hop on a conference call to sort out various site issues, though, so I can only assume the next big transaction will be dropping in just a few moments. ENJOY IT WHILE YOU LAUGH AT ME.
