You didn’t think the Cubs offense was done, did you?
After scoring one-bajillion runs off the Marlins this week, the Cubs got things going right away against the White Sox. Ben Zobrist led off with a double, Kris Bryant was hit by a pitch, and Anthony Rizzo eventually drove in the game’s first run.
But the real fun began once Kyle Schwarber drew a walk to load the bases for Willson Contreras – on my fantasy team (YES!) – who decided to make his second homer of the season count!
Watch as he put the Cubs up by five runs, with a grand slam off Carson Fulmer in the first:

BOOM! He crushed that … and to just the right spot.
According to Statcast, that ball was smashed – 107.6 MPH off the bat – but traveled just 393 feet. Thanks to a really solid 24-degree launch angle, however, it was enough to leave the park.
And, yes, it was a “barrel:”

Contreras is now slashing .252/.331/.437 (110 wRC+) for the season, which means he’s officially 10% better than the league average. He’s had a huge week, offensively.
