Alright, well that loss still sucks, but it’s usually quite difficult to sweep both halves of a double header, so … advantage Cubs?
Jose Quintana is starting the second game tonight and he’s coming off one of his worst starts of the year: 4.2 IP, 9H, 6ER, 3BB, 6Ks, 3HRs (although, remember his two worst starts, BY FAR, both came against the Braves). Hopefully, he bounces back strong tonight and helps the Cubs salvage the day (and weekend).
Starting opposite Quintana is the righty Sal Romano, who, frankly, isn’t very good. He’s walking nearly 10% of the batters he’s faced this year while striking out less than 15%. He does get more soft contact than most pitchers, but he’s allowed plenty of hard contact to balance out. The Cubs should be able to get to him. Should. Win this one, guys. Please.
