The MVP race – or at least the chatter about it – reaching a fevered pitch this past week thanks to two divisional foes having two of the main candidates and also fighting it out for a playoff spot. We talked earlier today about how Javy Baez adds so much intangible value because of the way he plays the game, but, hey, it’s always nice for him to remind folks that he also just flat-out rakes at the plate.

That’s a 104.4 mph laser beam that just cleared the wall, and it marks homer 34 for Baez on the year. The runs driven in were numbers 108 and 109. Wow.
