I am, of course, happy about the Cubs winning another winnable game on the road, and I’m happy that the offense scraped together four runs (which would have been enough to win even if that big fly Brandon Kintzler gave up in the 8th had gone just a few feet further). Another good day for Jason Heyward, and another three-hit day for Javy Baez. Good. Good. Happy.
But I’m *elated* to see Jose Quintana with another dominant start. He just had everything working tonight, from his four-seam velocity, to his good curveball, to a useful changeup, to his ability to elevate in the strike zone. We’ll have more on this one later, but dang, man, it was good.
Q had this one covered.
