The Cubs can’t win every game, but they can try. Here’s their lineup for Game 2 against the Brewers.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:Â
- Jason Heyward, RF
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Javy Baez, SS
- Willson Contreras, C
- Kyle Schwarber, LF
- David Bote, 2B
- Albert Almora Jr., CF
- Cole Hamels, P
Righty Zach Davies is on the mound for the Brewers this afternoon, and he’s got traditional lefty/righty splits, meaning lefties are better suited for success than righties. But once again, the Cubs are unable to take full advantage with Daniel Descalso and Ben Zobrist both unavailable to start (for different reasons).
But they were able to get Jason Heyward and Kyle Schwarber in there, with the former leading off once again. And without a lefty on the mound and with Zobrist/Descalso not starting, Heyward makes as much sense up top as anybody.
Other than that, David Bote is at second base and everyone else is in their usual spot.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time (1:20 CT).
