The Cubs have a rubber match in Cincinnati today and they’ve got Jon Lester on the mound to try to bring it home.
Lester, of course, is coming off a very good start at Wrigley Field against the Braves: 6.0 IP, 5H, 0ER, 0BB, 7Ks, but had been struggling quite a bit before that, so I’m really hoping that was the start of something good.
The Reds offense has produced just a 90 wRC+ against left-handed pitching this year, so on paper this should be a pretty good match for Big Jon (who hasn’t faced them yet this season).
The Cubs haven’t been winning many series lately, so I want this one. Bad. Go get it for us, Cubs.
