The game is different than it was 30 years ago, but when you get an opportunity to mention Javy Baez in the same breath as Ryne Sandberg, you take it.
Báez joins Sandberg as only Cubs middle infielders to hit 25 HRs in multiple seasons in the last 50 years. Sandberg accomplished feat six times (1985, 1989-91, 1995-96).

Sandberg, of course, did the trick six times, so Baez has a little work cut out for him to join up on that front. But hey, being the only middle infielder to do it in MLB the last two years – a home run epoch – is pretty sweet.
