The Cubs have now scored double digits an incredible 20(!) times this year, most in MLB. Yet they’d done it on back-to-back days just once before this season (early August) until pulling it off yesterday.
With 14 runs added to 17 on Friday, the Cubs have gone off for 31 runs in the last two days:
The 31 in two days is by far the Cubs’ largest total this year, and we can all thank September pitching for that one, plus some helpful Wrigley Field conditions.
Oh, but also, the Cubs’ freaking offense actually showing how absurd it *can* be. You gotta love that in just two mid-September days, the Cubs have raised their overall team slash from .250/.329/.447 (99 wRC+) to .252/.332/.453 (101 wRC+).
How about one more 10+ day to complete the sweep?
