Are you ready for El Mago to be back on the bases?!
Hey, it’s not a full-scale return for Javy Baez, but it’s absolutely a start, and you never know how his energy and ability out there could contribute:
Baez was reexamined by doc and cleared for “light” baseball activity. Hitting off a tee. Team says pinch running duty has been approved (with protective glove/inpenetrable bubble/kryptonite shell) on injured hand)

Javy Baez had re-check with hand specialist. Has been cleared for light baseball activities. Doing tee work. Pinch-running is a possibility as soon as tonight.

And it’s still possible that Baez is able to pinch hit in the coming days, and maybe fully good to go before the regular season is up:
Madison: biggest issue with Baez is squeezing glove due to thumb issue, but not ruling out a return to the field by the end of regular season

It’s worth keeping those hopes and expectations in check, and it’s also worth remembering: none of this even matters if the Cubs can’t find a way to win three of the next four games against the Cardinals.
