Two Cubs comeback wins came across my stream today as June 29 anniversaries, and since I enjoyed being reminded of them greatly, I thought I’d share them here, too.
First, just a few years ago, the Cubs came back in the 9th inning in Washington against the Nationals to pull one out:
#OTD in 2017, the Cubs rallied to score 3 runs in the top of the 9th against the Washington Nationals.
Down to their final out and trailing by 2 runs, Tommy La Stella singled and Jon Jay connected on a 2-run double off Blake Treinen to give the Cubs a 5-4 victory. pic.twitter.com/Ksq1Pgs6mR

I really loved that one, not only because it came amidst a stretch where the Cubs were in a first-half-long funk, but also because all the run-scoring came after two outs and with just one runner on base. That’s just not a game you expect to come back in.
And, of course, today is also the anniversary of a CLASSIC moment, which needs no introduction. Just watch and enjoy:
