When Ian Happ made a beautiful catch while playing center field today, I said this, “When you think of a Chicago Cubs center fielder tracking a deep ball really well and crashing into the bricks and ivy, you’re likely picturing Albert Almora.”
I was being cute, but seriously, though, the catch was definitely Almora-esque.
Late in the game, manager David Ross shuffled things around to beef up the defense, moving Happ to left field and bringing in Almora to center. It didn’t take long for Almora to remind Happ who’s the king of making incredible catches crashing into the bricks and ivy:

That’s an incredible catch right there, as Almora does. With apologies to Happ’s catch, which was great, Almora’s was even better.
The wall got a workout in this one.
