It looks like the Cubs have their new third base coach, if Buster Olney’s report is accurate:
Willie Harris, longtime utilityman, is expected to be the Cubs' third base coach.

A long-time MLB utility man, Harris played for the Nationals, the Reds, the Braves, the White Sox, and did spend his 2006 season in Boston, so there’s a Jed Hoyer connection. His time at those stops never overlapped with David Ross, though it’s not hard to imagine Ross hearing good things.
More recently, Harris managed in the Giants’ minor league system, and then was the baserunning and outfield coach for the Reds. He’s replacing Will Venable at third base, who left for the bench coach job with the Red Sox, and Venable also coached in the outfield. Harris appears to be a good fit in that respect.
