Anthony Rizzo did it with the Yankees. Why wouldn’t Javy Báez do it with the Mets?
Making his debut at home with his new team, Javy Báez just wrecked one, as thoroughly enjoyed by his long-time friend and new teammate Francisco Lindor. And the fans even got him a curtain call right out of the gate:
Welcome to New York, Javier Báez. Much like his ex-teammate Anthony Rizzo across town, Báez debuts with a homer. It's a two-run shot, and Francisco Lindor is hyped.
Báez just came back out for a curtain call.

As with Rizzo, I say good for Javy. No reason not to wish him tremendous success with his new team, even if it gives me complicated feelings to actually watch it happen.
