The last of the three traded Cubs core players, Kris Bryant was also the last to arrive and debut with his new team. He did the pre-game media thing with the Giants, and I thought you might want to see what he had to say. Well, want is probably the wrong word.
Given Bryant’s ties out west, it is maybe not a surprise to learn that, if he had to wind up somewhere else, he was happy to be in San Francisco:
Kris Bryant said he grew up a Giants fan and a huge fan of Barry Bonds. He’s hoping that he can meet him at some point. Bonds was here on Friday night, so that should be pretty easy.

Kris Bryant said he thanked Jed Hoyer for trading him to Giants, he wanted to be on a team with World Series aspirations and wanted to be a Giant after he started hearing rumors. “I told him thank you for trading me to a team like this.”

Kris Bryant is a free agent at end of year, said staying long term is “definitely enticing.” When the trade happened, he talked to his wife about “how we both thought we would end up here” at some point 👀
