As the announcement notes, all we know at this point is that there are potential COVID-19 issues with the Smokies, and the current series – which runs through Sunday – has been cancelled. That will allow for additional testing and contact tracing, and quarantining as necessary.
Hopefully this turns out all right. That’s the most important thing – health and safety for the players and personnel. It’s unfortunate to lose the games for a number of reasons, but again, health and safety trumps everything else.
