As you may recall, there is perhaps some lingering bad blood between the Cardinals and Nick Castellanos. He celebrated scoring a run, the Cardinals cried, Yadier Molina grabbed Castellanos’s neck, and Castellanos was suspended. Yup, that’s how it went down.
Tonight, Castellanos hit a grand slam as part of a parade of homers against the Cardinals, and because they are petty as hell of a chip in his bat, Cardinals manager Mike Shildt asked for an official investigation:
Nick Castellanos hits a grand slam with a chipped bat so Cardinals manager Mike Shildt asks umpires to check if that's illegal. The home run call was upheld and Castellanos gave the bat to a young fan pic.twitter.com/1PyfC1RlWT

I guess it’s an understandable question, but as the broadcasters note, it’s a total chump move to wait until after he does something big to finally ask about the bat. He’s been using that chipped bat for a long time, apparently.
Grand slam stands. Nick Castellanos wins. Cardinals lose.
