Postseason Pre-Gamin’: NLDS Game 5 (8:07 CT) — Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

With all but one divisional series in the books at this point, we’re left with just one game to decide the entire championship series field. But, of course, if one series were going to go the distance this round, it would be the one featuring the two 100-win teams from the National League West, the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers.

With the ALCS already set with the Red Sox and Astros doing battle beginning on Friday night, we’ll find tonight out who will be taking on the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS beginning Saturday night.

San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers – NLDS Game 5

The season-long battle over in the NL west comes to a head tonight as the 107-win Giants host the 106-win Dodgers in what should be one heck of a decisive Game 5.

After originally scheduling Julio Urías to be the starting pitcher for the evening, the Dodgers announced this afternoon that they would be starting right-hander Corey Knebel in tonight’s Game 5. According to reports from ESPN 710-Am in Los Angeles, Urías is still available to pitch tonight, and likely to make an appearance at some point. Knebel is a one-inning guy, so this looks to be an Opener situation.

Knebel/Urías will oppose Logan Webb, who stymied the Dodgers’ high-powered offensive attack in Game 1 last Friday night. Webb was incredible, allowing the Dodgers just five hits over seven scoreless innings while racking up 10 strikeouts. Webb’s gem in Game 1 allowed San Francisco to take an early lead in the series.

Of course, it was Julio Urías who twirled a gem and led the Dodgers to victory as he held San Francisco to just one earned run on three hits as Los Angeles evened the series at one-game-a-piece.
