The Cubs need lefty power – somehow – but there weren’t any rumors tying them to old friend Joc Pederson.
With the outfield market (position players overall) in full swing now, Pederson is also off the board:

Joc Pederson to Giants. $6M.

That’s a tough home park for a bat like Joc’s, but he does have pretty substantial power. Maybe it won’t be an issue. The Giants have had an interesting offseason, fill their rotation right back up with short-term guys, and otherwise sitting out the market. They are clearly relying on their group of veterans (minus Buster Posey) to all perform to their 90th percentile outcomes again in 2022 … or they’ve got some big mystery move up their sleeve. Otherwise, they’ll end the offseason having committed relatively little money to a roster that arguably needed a lot.
