Frank. The. Tank. Is. Back.
Brett got into the nitty gritty of today’s lineup earlier this morning, so I won’t go back over his points, but I did want to underscore the return of Frank Schwindel, who had been out of the lineup for the last week or so, resting a sore back. He says he feels good and I’m happy to see him back in there. A rerun of Schwindel’s monster offensive performance last season remains unlikely (for about a billion reasons), but Schwindel is easy to root for and some of the underlying numbers are encouraging. What a great story it would be, eh?
Just reminding you that this @obvious_shirts exists and Frank Schwindel is back in the Cubs lineup today and is gonna hit 57 home runs this season as the Cubs first baseman and NL MVP.https://t.co/Z9j2waaMZ0 pic.twitter.com/DLn1KqMSjY

Elsewhere, Kyle Hendricks is taking the mound for his third start of the spring. By my count, he’ll get just one more outing after this one, so we might see him try to stretch it out a bit longer today and next weekend. Conservatively, of course. Go Cubs.
