The Chicago Cubs dropped both halves of the double-header yesterday, but there’s still two more games against the Brewers this week. Here’s the lineup for Game 3 against the southpaw, Eric Lauer.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:Â
1. Christopher Morel, CF
2. Willson Contreras, C
3. Patrick Wisdom, 3B
4. Frank Schwindel, DH
5. Nico Hoerner, SS
6. Ian Happ, LF
7. Clint Frazier, RF
8. Alfonso Rivas, 1B
9. Andrelton Simmons, 2B
SP: Justin Steele, LHP
Lauer, 26, struck out 11 Cubs the last time he faced this team almost exactly one month ago. But in that contest, Nick Madrigal (2Ks), Michael Hermosillo (3Ks), Patrick Wisdom (2Ks), and a struggling Seiya Suzuki (1K) accounted for 8 of the 11 strikeouts. And three of those players are not in the lineup tonight (not that that’s a good thing generally speaking).
Instead of Madrigal, Andrelton Simmons is at second base. Instead of Hermosillo, we’ve got Christopher Morel in center, leading off. And instead of Seiya Suzuki in right, we’ve got Clint Frazier.
Maybe these guys will have some better luck and the rest will benefit from seeing him relatively recently.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (7:05 CT).
