Ah. No. That’s a not-particularly-close loss.

Keegan Thompson was getting hit REALLY hard in the zone, including homers by Paul Goldschmidt and Dylan Carlson (oh, I guess the Cardinals were right not to trade him for Juan Soto!). Michael Rucker and Anderson Espinoza pitched well thereafter in their return to the big leagues.

Offensively the Cubs did precious little at the plate, and the whole game had the kind of sleepy vibe I’m carrying with me at hour 41.
