The Cubs and Cardinals were rained out last night, so we’ve got a double-header on tap today. St. Louis is sticking with the righty Miles Mikolas, but the Cubs have swapped out Marcus Stroman for Justin Steele. Here’s Chicago’s lineup for the afternoon game.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:
- Rafael Ortega, CF
- Willson Contreras, C
- Ian Happ, DH
- Seiya Suzuki, RF
- Nico Hoerner, SS
- Patrick Wisdom, 1B
- Zach McKinstry, 3B
- Nelson Velázquez, LF
- David Bote, 2B
SP: Marcus Stroman, RHP
Even though the Cubs are facing the same pitcher, their lineup got a bit of a tweak because of the doubleheader.
Rafael Ortega is still leading off, but he moves from DH to center field, as Ian Happ goes from left field to DH. That opens up the corner for Nelson Velázquez, who enters the game alongside David Bote. And the two of them replaced Chris Morel and Nick Madrigal, who was set to get his first big league start since rehabbing at Triple-A Iowa. I’m sure we’ll see both guys in the night game.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ post closer to game time (12:15 CT).
