Spring Training is Coming – When Do Pitchers and Catchers Officially Report?

Can you feel it? Spring Training is almost here. The air just smells better.

Major League Baseball players and teams will officially kick off the 2023 season this week, as players report to their team complexes in Arizona and Florida. After about ten days of ramping up, Cactus League (Arizona) and Grapefruit League (Florida) games begin.

This week, the players start officially reporting for Spring Training. If you’re wondering about the official reporting dates for pitchers and catchers, and other position players, for each team, see below. It’s the date by which players have to show up and begin the ramp up for the regular season. And it’s always fun to say “PITCHERS AND CATCHERS REPORT TODAY!”

Note that because the World Baseball Classic is taking place this March, there will be slightly earlier reporting dates for pitchers and catchers participating in the WBC (February 13), as well as position players participating in the WBC (February 15 to 17).
