Cubs vs Giants – Cubs Lineup, Pitching Matchup, How to Watch, More
The Cubs are back at it today at Scottsdale Stadium. Anthony DeSclafani is on the mound for the Giants and Adrian Sampson makes his fourth start of the spring. Here’s the Cubs lineup for Saturday afternoon.
Cubs Lineup vs Dodgers
- Nick Madrigal, 3B
- Eric Hosmer, 1B
- Patrick Wisdom, RF
- Edwin Rios, DH
- Mike Tauchman, LF
- Chris Morel, CF
- Tucker Barnhart, C
- David Bote, 2B
- Zach McKinstry, SS
It’s not the A-lineup this afternoon, but a lot of these players will be on the Opening Day roster, a few of which will be starters. If I had to guess, Morel and Bote start the season in Iowa, McKinstry doesn’t make the team, Madrigal (3B), Wisdom (RF), and Hosmer (1B) are all in the opening day lineup, while Rios, Tauchman, and Barnhart are on the bench.
Just a guess.
Pitching Matchups
Giants: Anthony DeSclafani, RHP
Cubs: Adrian Sampson, RHP
This could very well be Adrian Sampson’s last chance to really make a case for himself to be the fifth starter come Opening Day. Hayden Wesneski has leapfrogged him in likelihood, but he didn’t quite put the competition to bed yesterday. It’s pretty close to over, but it’s not over yet.
