Chicago Cubs Prospects Went Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-Back Today (Yes, That’s Four Straight Homers)
You don’t always get much specific game-related info from back fields games among prospects in Spring Training, so I count us as very lucky that we got to find out something a group of Cubs prospects did today.
Baseball America’s Josh Norris happened to be taking in a game today and saw something he’s never before seen in baseball:
That’s some seriously fun stuff, and Norris even got some video:
Alcántara and McGeary are some seriously powerful bookends, so no huge surprise there. Piñango hits the ball extremely hard, but he doesn’t always elevate enough to hit dingers. And Made, well, we really want to see the power take a step forward, so that’s extra fun to see.
By the way, funny thing about Norris saying he’s been doing it since 2006 and has never seen it … the last time back-to-back-to-back-to-back homers happened in a game I can remember was from 2006! It was the Dodgers:
