That was so awesome. I had so much fun at today’s game with my friends, watching the Cubs, having some beers, and being as “warm” as I’ve ever been on a Cubs Opening Day. I went out to celebrate the win, and I make no apologies for my many hours of indulgence after the win.
Marcus Stroman had his pitches dancing today, and the defense behind him did what they needed to do to tow the line. It’s how the Cubs can win this year, and although they certainly will not shut out every opponent, when the defense plays to the best of its ability and the pitching lines up like that, I think they will hold down opponent scoring.
Dansby Swanson slapping three hits in his Cubs debut is going to make for some big smiles, and Michael Fulmer getting a pseudo save will do the same.
